雅思口语从四个方面来评分：语法多样性及准确性、流利性与连贯性、词汇多样性、发音。
【9分】
该分数段的考生通常能够以正常语速流利地进行口头表达，极少出现重复或自我纠正。如有犹豫，是在寻找思路，而不是在搜寻词语或语法形式。讲话很有条理，观点明确，表达连贯，话题阐述非常充分。能够运用十分丰富的词汇手段讨论各类话题，用词自然、准确，符合语言习惯。能够准确运用十分丰富的语法结构，仅有极少错误，但合乎常理。发音自然、清晰且非常易于理解。
【8分】
该分数段的考生通常能够以正常语速流利地进行口头表达，偶有重复或自我纠正。如有犹豫，通常是在寻找思路，而不是在搜寻词语或语法形式。讲话有条理，观点明确，表达连贯，话题阐述充分。能够运用十分丰富的词汇手段讨论各类话题，用词自然、准确，符合语言习惯，偶尔出现用词错误;如有必要，能够很好地变换措辞。能够运用十分丰富的语法结构，多数语句表达正确，只是偶有错误。发音整体上自然、清晰，只是偶有小的问题。发音通常易于理解，其口音对内容理解的影响非常小。8.5分的考生能够更好地运用和展示这些口语技能。
【7分】
该分数段的考生通常能够轻松进行口头表达，语音清晰、内容详尽，会有些重复、自我纠正或因搜寻词语或语法形式出现犹豫。讲话大体上有条理，观点大体明确，表达整体上连贯。能够运用丰富的词汇手段讨论广泛的话题，能够使用一些不常见的词汇或习语，尽管并非始终准确无误。如有必要，能够很好地变换措辞。能够使用多种语法结构，虽有一些错误，但表达通常正确。发音大体上自然、清晰，偶有问题。发音通常易于理解，其口音对内容理解的影响不大。7.5分的考生能够更好地运用和展示这些口语技能。
【6分】
该分数段的考生通常能够进行详尽的口头表达，会因重复、自我纠正或因搜寻词语或语法形式时的犹豫致使表达有时不够清晰、流利。讲话大体上有条理，观点表达大体连贯，但会出现一些错误。有足够的词汇量进行话题讨论，内容清晰、详尽，虽会经常出错，通常能够很好地变换措辞。能在有限范围内使用简单和复杂的语法结构。使用较为复杂的结构时，可能会经常出错，但其语言通常易于理解。发音清晰、有效，但可能存在问题。虽然有时单词发音不清晰，但通常易于理解。6.5分的考生能够更好地运用和展示这些口语技能。
【5分】
该分数段的考生通常能够持续地进行讲话，但常常出现重复、自我纠正、放缓语速，或因搜寻词语或语法形式而犹豫。讲话并非始终清晰、有条理，经常过度使用某些连接词或短语。能够流畅地谈论简单话题，但在谈论欠熟悉话题及运用相对陌生的语言时，可能会出现问题。有足够的词汇量来谈论熟悉和陌生的话题，但词汇范围有限，经常出错，且变换措辞的能力有限。能够相当准确地使用简单的语法结构，也能使用为数不多的复杂语法结构，但通常会出错，可能令人费解。发音清晰、有效，但经常出错，有时造成理解困难。5.5分的考生能够更好地运用和展示这些口语技能。
【4分】
该分数段的考生通常可以持续地讲话，但有诸多明显停顿，语速可能缓慢，可能经常出现重复或自我纠正。仅能做到基本连贯，有时表达难以听懂或理解。有足够的词汇量来谈来熟悉的话题，但频繁出错;对陌生话题仅能表达基本意思。极少尝试变化措辞。有时能够准确使用基本的语法结构，但极少使用复杂的语法结构。语法错误频出，可能会引起误解。发音问题较多，单词发音经常出错，给听者造成理解困难。4.5分的考生能够更好地运用和展示这些口语技能。
【3.5分及以下】
该分数段的考生通常交流能力非常有限，仅能做出有限、基本的回应，可能会频繁出现长时间停顿。仅能使用基本词汇和语法，错误频出。仅能说出背记的短语或个别单词。发音会造成相当大的理解困难。
